Cedar Creek Lake is the fourth largest lake in Texas and is one of the most popular lakes for boating and fishing.  Cedar Creek Lake has 320 miles of shoreline and is 18 miles long and 8.5 miles wide at the widest point which offers plenty of space for everyone.  Cedar Creek Lake is conveniently located only 55 miles southeast of Dallas, Texas.

Texas Parks and Wildlife has rated the fishing on Cedar Creek Lake as excellent for White & Hybrid Striped Bass and rated it good for Largemouth Bass, Catfish and Crappie.

There are several towns in the vicinity of Cedar Creek Lake: Seven Points, Kemp, Gun Barrel City, Mabank, Eustace, Payne Springs, Athens, Malakoff, Caney City, Star Harbor, Tool and Trinidad.  You can find a variety of dining and shopping in the local towns.  Some of the towns also have festivals that are a lot of fun for both the tourists and the locals.

Tom Finley Park on Cedar Creek Lake

Tom Finley Park is a day use waterfront park and has a boat ramp for launching your boat.  The park is located on the Causeway on TX 334.  It is a great place to have fun with the family and friends.  Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy watching the boats go by.

From Thanksgiving to New Years, Tom Finley Park becomes a "Christmas Island."  Wonderful light displays are provided by the area merchants each year for the park.

If you have a boat, you will find plenty of places to store your boat on Cedar Creek Lake.  You can rent a boat slip with an electric lift at a local marina, or you can store your boat at one of the storage facilites at the lake.
